Ok, so I busted out some figs and decided to teach my GF (and myself for that matter) how to play this last nite. I have the basic rules from BEvo and the ApocZ book and we sat down and tried it out.
I just want to make sure this is right because some questions came up and I couldn't really answer them as this was my first time with Bevo rules.
Basic: -Each person gets 2 actions (fire, move, charge, ready) per unit -Person 1-all actions then person 2 all actions -Target score-minimum needed to hit -Armor score-minimum needed to survive the hit/if not met, then unit is killed. -Kill score-well, minimum to kill *Now if you have a d6 weapon and the Zom has kill of 7+, you'll never score a kill unless you have a modifier (say aim), correct? (this, plus armor, was huge to her as her humans had a 4 armor and Zoms had 2 and it was easier for me to survive the hit and I had to give her Riot police just so she had a chance). -Reactions occur from 0-10" and any unit can do a reaction w/in that range off of an action occuring to them. (this came up after the skirm as I had enough trouble keeping her interested).
Expanded: Zrules- -Aiming takes up one action and applies +1 to the shoot action Dx total *Now does the aim carry over to say the next round's actions or do you have to perform another aim action thus leaving you with only one more action (to shoot)? -Charge-Zombies 'have to' charge if within its move distance per 'Brains'; if so, then they would only charge on action 1 todo Close Combat (CC) or would action 2 still allow the close combat? (for simplicity, touching the base for CC could just be adjacent hexes? Showing her the game on a hexed map) *Also, a human wouldnt benefit from cover against a Zom Charge and CC but would be able to react before the close combat while under cover, correct?
This will definitely help later on too showing other ppl the game
Sorry I never got back to you on this forum, I saw dsfrank's answer on Evo Command and he's spot on... I'll see if I can get his permission to re-post his answer here, just for the sake of continuity.
